Cricket Fact Sheet
Season 2011/2012
We would like to welcome you to the Rouse Hill Rams Cricket Club. Here are a few things about the Club and the upcoming season so please take a few moments to read these details.
The RAMS Cricket Club
Committee – Our club has the following committee President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar, Sponsorship, Social Committee, Grounds Co-Ordinator, Equipment Officer, Web Master and in2cricket Co-Ordinator. These roles oversee the running of the Club, Registration of Teams/Players with PDCA, collection of Registration Fees, ordering of equipment & shirts/caps, etc.
Communication – The club will be communicating to all players/parents via the following methods
a. Through our web page www.rousehillrams.com.au – this site will have all the latest cricket news, draws, etc and also supports all sports within the Sports Club
b. Parramatta District Cricket operates a web site as part of NSW Cricket – the location is http://rousehillrams.nsw.cricket.com.au/. This site will show the draw, and table of each division and results but our main point of contact will be the RAMS web site.
c. All correspondence is to be directed through the club secretary at secretary.cricket@rousehillrams.com.au.
d. Once up and running your team Coach, Captain and Managers will also be an important source of information and we will ensure that they are kept up to date with information relating to the club and the competition.
Clothing - Each player is required to wear a club cap & club shirt (we will need to confirm shirt sizes this week to allow sufficient time to ensure we have them by competition start). Players will need to have white pants and white shoes (these can be any type of sports shoes but need to be predominantly white). Shirts can be purchased for $25 and Caps are $10 – these will be available from our clothing/merchandise supplier (details will be posted on the web site).
Training Shirts – Each Junior will receive a free training shirt. This shirt will be subject to the club organising enough sponsors to cover the costs.
Equipment - Each team will be supplied with a cricket kit, which will include items such as stumps, pads, helmets, bats, scorebook, etc. Match balls will also be supplied by the club. There is no need for new players to have their own equipment
Insurance – Rouse Hill Rams by being part of PDCA is covered by Cricket NSW insurance, check the web site for more details.
Pre-Season
Pre-Season - The club will be conducting Pre-Season sessions on Sunday the 14th, 21st and 28th of August at the Hills Centenary grounds. Times will be as follows
a. Juniors Session 1 (U10s, U11s & U12s) – 9am -10.30am
b. Juniors Session 2 (U13s, U14s, U15s & U16s) – 10.30am -12noon
c. Seniors – 2pm – 3.30pm
Junior Development – Again we will have the involvement of the Northwest Hurricanes through a programme that will not only train our Junior Cricketers but also work to further develop the skills of our coaches. This season the Hurricanes have a dedicated role of junior Development and we will see Paddy Little help both our players and coaches throughout the season.
Coaching assistance – we are looking to have each of our coaches accredited with a Level 1 coaching certificate (this will be paid for by the club). In addition we have developed a number of items to assist teams, these include Coaches & Managers Guide, notes on how to Score, CDs from Cricket Australia.
Scorers/Umpiring Sessions - To assist all parents/players who wish to understand how to score and the keys to umpiring we will be conducting a session at the same time as Juniors Pre-Season (details will be posted on the web site).
Registration Fees – Playing fees are as follows
a. in2cricket $65 (this includes a shirt and cap)
b. Juniors $135
c. Seniors $155
d. Senior Part Timer $80 (up to 6 matches)
In addition each Family will pay an Equipment fee of $20 (this does not apply if the only player in the family is in in2cricket)
Note : Fees must be paid by the completion of Round 2 – if positions are limited preference will be given to financial members
Playing Details
PDCA Dates - The competition is expected to start on the 10th of September for both Juniors and Seniors (all playing dates will be loaded on the Web Site – www.rousehillrams.com.au once dates are confirmed by PDCA) Playing times for games under PDCA are
a. Under 10s : 8.30am – 11am
b. Under 11s – Under 16s : 8.30am – 12 noon
c. Seniors 1.30pm to 5.45pm (Non-Daylight Savings) & 1.30pm to 6.15pm (Daylight Savings)
in2cricket Details – in2cricket (5-8 years) will operate under NSW Cricket’s “in2Cricket” programme
Location – Second Ponds, Withers Road
Dates – October thru Feb (12 week program)
Times – We will commence at 6.30pm and run for around 1½ hours
Teams - At the time of writing we expect to be fielding 15-17 sides, these sides are:
a. U10s (one possibly two sides)
b. U11s (one side)
c. U12s (one side)
d. U13s (one side)
e. U14s (one side)
f. U15s (two sides)
g. U16s (one side)
h. 6-7 Senior sides (varying from higher to lower grades)
The grades each of these teams will be playing will be based on where the Grading Committee believe they will be best suited (this will be assessed through the Pre-Season Days). All Junior sides will be capped at 13 players and Junior sides will not be registered with PDCA without a coach.
Grounds – This season we have access to the following grounds for both playing & training
a. Hills Centenary
b. Kellyville Park (Front, Back & Top)
c. Second Ponds
During the Season
Training – Team training sessions will be decided upon prior to the season when coaches/captains are appointed; the dates for training will be agreed between the players/parents in conjunction with the coaches/captains.
